Analysis and translation of orality features in the novel "Béni ou le paradis privé" by Azouz Begag
Abstract
One of the distinctive features of beur literature is its linguistic miscegenation, formed by Arabic terms and culturemes, in addition to the representation of orality. From the translation perspective, translating these narratives implies a significant challenge, which has lead us to carry out an analysis of orality features of the novel Béni ou le paradis privé, by Azouz Begag. The objectives of this paper are first to bring forward a classification of those features at the phonetic, morphosyntactic, lexical and semantic levels, as well as the translation into Spanish with the justification for our proposals. Likewise, we aim to bring this literature closer to the Spanish audience and to show the multicultural richness of this work through translation.Downloads
