Abstract
Through an exposition of the origins and methodology of the literary criticism school developed by Gilbert Durand, along with an applied analysis of the works of Lautréamont and the Decadent movement, this article aims to bring the mythanalysis back to the place where it belongs. In so doing, it will show how the label mythocritic has been appropriated and misused to represent a mere comparativist effort, far from its original purpose and meaning.Downloads
