Abstract

This article focuses on labor conditions and their relationship with gender and age in the Supermarket Sector of the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. Starting from the hypothesis of the predominance of young people in the sector, combined with strategies and planning that follow an exclusive and stereotyped guideline. From this, the question arises: Do gender and age influence working conditions in supermarkets in the city of Santa Fe? To answer this question, a descriptive, correlational, and explanatory study was designed. Methodologies were integrated through the combination of both quantitative and qualitative methods. In conclusion, the supermarket work appears stereotyped in terms of gender and age, the work-life balance factor plays a central role in labor conditions, and the absence of management policies addressing gender diversity is noted.
