The first poems Aurelio Aguirre Galician newspapers (1851)
Abstract
During one research on Neira de Mosquera in Compostela's press, five Aurelio Aguirre's forgotten poems were found in the newspaper El Santiagués (1850-1851), which are added to those already published in 2013, in the critical editions of his recovered works. The interest of this discovery lies in the fact that those were the very first verses the author published in the press, and that they establish documentary evidence about the relationship between the Xeración of 1856 and the one which stood out before the Revolution in 1846, both educated in provincialism. The role of the press in the Galician literary field of XIX will be analyzed, and we will edit the Aguirre's texts followed by a literary analysis that will follow its context in Galician second Romanticism.Downloads
