Two versions of exile in Paris: Mario Levrero and Carlos Gardel
Abstract
This article analyzes the relationship between two possible exiles, the one depicted in the tango “Anclao in Paris” performed by Carlos Gardel and the other depicted in the novel by the Uruguayan writer Mario Levrero: Paris. The nexus of relationships is given by the author, while making Gardel as one of the characters in his novel, the protagonist in exile the same in Paris and ucronian traits of the novel. Gardel’s theme in the narrative of Levrero is mentioned also in his novel El alma de Gardel where it is seen as an exile who has not taken off from the human world.Downloads
