Abstract

Karl Popper’s views regarding modern technology are presented and critically discussed. Firstly, the relationship established by Popper among basic science, applied science and technology is studied and some conceptual clarifications are made. Secondly, the place of technology in the framework of the Popperian philosophy of history and society is examined. Thirdly, some problems in connection with the Popperian “three worlds”’ theory and the place of technology therein are highlighted.
