The ethics of quantitative and qualitative research in Philosophy in prisons. BOECIO as a case study to overcome some ethical research limitations
BOECIO como estudio de caso para superar algunas limitaciones investigadoras éticas.
Abstract
This paper describes the ethical bases that a philosophical project in prisons should
accomplish. Firstly, it defines the goals and it explains the design of the philosophical activities carried
out in national and international prisons. Then, it discovers the weaknesses of the ethical dimensions of
these works and it stress the lack of its basic bioethical principles (autonomy, beneficence and justice).
Finally, the paper deeps in the real dilemmas that the lack of each principle creates and it proposes some
solutions by using the experience of the project on Philosophical Practice in Prison BOECIO.
