Analysis of the relationship between intuitive and mathematical continuum in "Das Kontinuum"
Abstract
In this paper I discuss the conclusion reached by Weyl in his book The continuum about the relation between mathematical and intuitive continuum. This helps me to analyse more deeply these ideas and to suggest the property of gaplessness [Lückenlosigkeit] as ground for the intuitive continuum, and therefore for the mathematical one, proposing an alternative based on classic idealism to deal with the continuum problem.
