The relation of Lukács with the tragedy
Abstract
The relationship between Lukács and the tragedy will be one of the most important elements in understanding the development of his Ethics and his Aesthetics. In this article we will try to clarify the role played by the main character in the development of the novel. This includes a clarification of the hero, his inner search, the position in the historical development of the same and the other aspects related to artistic re-figuration. We will see how Lukács undertakes this search from Classical Antiquity through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, Critical Realism and its subsequent recovery with Socialist Realism.
