The interpretive strategy of the hermeneutic circle in Lukacs’ theory of reflex
Abstract
In his later work, Lukács investigates the materialistic ontological categories that define the “generic human essence”. He arrives to the category of “reflection”, a cognitive process that includes a recursive movement between subject and object, updated during the social praxis, which allows the subject to know the objective world and intervene in it. The article states that, in such a movement, an interpretative strategy occurs that we can identify with that of the “circle of interpretation” developed in the hermeneutic tradition.Downloads
