Walter Benjamin: intercultural reception and politics of interpretation
Abstract
This article prompts the substantial multiplication of commentaries around Walter Benjamin’s work as a situation that needs to be accounted for in the methodologies leading to any interpretation. Through the critical treatment of two terms –theology and messianim– it argues for approaches that consider the sociolinguistic context of reception from the interpreter herself. It aims thus to contribute to generate alternative methodologies that can open up the field for themes and topics in which a renewed critical reception can be generated.Downloads
