Human needs and ecological crisis: a philosophical approach
Abstract
The ecological crisis represents perhaps the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced. Confronted with the despair and complexity of this issue, this paper seeks to join the numerous efforts to offer a constructive response from perspective of human needs. Through a conceptual approach, it examines how an adequate understanding of needs could help propose alternative strategies to the dominant model of production, distribution, and consumption. Ultimately, the aim is to reconcile the pursuit of human well-being with the imperative of environmental sustainability, promoting solutions that integrate practical feasibility with ethical and ecological commitment.
