Abstract

Orientation tests on stains allow location of latent samples as well as investigation orientation. In the case of bloodstains, earlier studies have shown that some environmental factors influence results. In this work, variables have been increased as far as environmental conditions to which bloodstain samples have been exposed and the type of materials on which they have been deposited, in order to test the usefulness of orientation tests. The use of forensic lights was also evaluated to determine if visibility of latent stains can be improved.
