Abstract

In this article we shall carry out the study of two mummies from the collection brought by the Spanish expedition to the eastern coast of the Pacific in the years between 1862 and 1869. Historic and anthropological aspects of the complete collection have been studied. We selected two of the mummies which from the outside seemed to have the most number of alterations and possible pathologies, and are numbered mummies 6 and 30. We made a somatometric and radiological study on both, using densitometric techniques as well. The results show that in at least one of them, the cause of death may have been due to a cerebral traumatism.
