Co-development as a missed opportunity: discourses and practices between politicisation and idealisation
Abstract
The complexity of the concept of co-development lies in the use made of it by the different organisations active in the realm of migration and development cooperation, adopting preventive or restrictive approaches to migratory flows, turning a promising idea into a lost opportunity to investigate ways of shared development. This premise invites us to explore the discourses and practices that have emerged in this regard, to assess their politicised use and the glimpsed from the third sector and the academic sphere, with special emphasis on the different variables and barriers that hinder consensus on this issue.
