Rethinking Social Education: From intervention to relationship. A formative experience in the Practicum of Social Education.
Abstract
In this article we share the results of a case study in which we seek to find out what personal and professional changes have been taking place in Social Education students while they are doing their external placements and in a training context that seeks to provide spaces for self-transformation. Over the course of three years, we have observed the change that has taken place in their conception of the profession, which has shifted from a welfare and interventionist vision to a disposition towards educational encounters. In a passage that leads them from a position of reaction to social reality to a more situated professional knowledge, linked to resistance and awareness of what the relationship with others entails.
