The parliamentary process for the approval of the Law on Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity and its actors
Abstract
Law 1/2023 of 20 February on Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity is a fundamental milestone for the development of the cooperation system in Spain. This milestone has been possible thanks to the participation of different agents who, through shared work, have actively collaborated in some of the stages of the legislative process. This article highlights and describes the role played by the Spanish Senate in the drafting of the approved text. This is done within the framework of the recognition of the intense work carried out over the years by the main actors of Spanish Development Cooperation.
