IPADE: quince años trabajando por un desarrollo humano sostenible
Abstract
The article here presented intends to divulge the work developed by Fundación IPADE in the Integrated Management Natural Reserve of Apolobamba in Bolivia, and, more specifically, its Program to increase income and social wellbeing of native populations in the Area. It displays the main characteristics, particularities and challenges of the work to be achieved with indigenous communities in protected areas, that host a good part of the poor population in southern countries. Such Program is part of a wider one, aimed at the Protection and Improvement of the Environment through actions of sustainable human development developed by IPADE since 2001, as a complement of three ARAUCARIA Programs of the Spanish Cooperation in three protected areas: the Colca Valley in Perou, the Natural Park of the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, and the Natural Reserve of Apolobamba in Bolivia. Funds for this Program come from the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI) and from Fundación IPADE itself.
