Condicionalidad de la ayuda y derechos humanos: un balance de las sanciones en la cooperación para el desarrollo
Abstract
In recent years, donors have been more inclined to apply aid sanctions to South government’s transgressors of human rights, in order to encourage them to respect them. However, the evidence indicates that instead of achieving that goal, sanctions have further reduced the opportunities of population to enjoy their human right to development, the latter contrary to the spirit of international cooperation for development.
