Centroamérica: riesgos y desafíos a la luz del IV Informe Estado de la Región
Abstract
Based on the Fourth Report on/of the State of the Region (2011), this article identifies the main risks and challenges that Central America is facing. This article argues that despite a difficult economic context between 2008-2010, the Central American region continued showing progress, thus avoiding another “lost decade” as experienced in the 1980’s. However, a number of risks remain and require the implementation of national initiatives (aimed at strengthening state capacity) and a closer regional collaboration (in order to deal with pressing shared challenges).
