The Role of Development in Brazil’s Cooperation Agenda in the Mercosur since 2003
Abstract
The present paper seeks to contribute to the development debate, exploring an important dimension of cooperation between Brazil and its South American neighbors and, specially, with its Mercosur partners. It argues that cooperation within the bloc—especially materialized through the Fund for Structural Convergence of Mercosur (FOCEM in Spanish)—had as incentive the development project taken since 2003 in Brazil.
