Regional Integrated Systems for Sustainable Human Development in local level
Abstract
Nowadays, development processes are also crucially embedded in diverse local and country contexts, with high diversity and heterogeneity of values, interests, policy ideas and discourses within the socio-economic infrastructure and policy networks of each society. Moreover, as the world cogitates about the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Agenda, the importance of dealing with economic competitiveness, social inclusion, human rights and environmental protection were essential in the territorial level (UNDP, 2014). In these circumstances, the synergies between local development (LD) and Sustainable Human Development (SHD) will become more remarkable than ever before. The aim of this paper is to deepen the importance of the integrated territorial systems for SHD at the local level, based on the recognition that the SHD cannot be accomplished without the LD but neither without a coherent MLG setting.
