Media coverage of drug trafficking: an incomplete and negative image of southern countries
Abstract
The information delivered by media about Southern countries may be decisive for the construction of the image of those countries. The way media is informing about drug trafficking is a good example of an incomplete and stigmatized approach, focusing exclusively on: blood, violence and chaos. The information which could be useful to debate and encourage development is put aside and suggested solutions are being ignored.
