Gender inequalities in humanitarian crises
Abstract
In the last few years, humanitarian crises have increased, and in addition to it, the lack of public resources invested on prevention and post-disaster recovery after the financial crash, have further affected women. In order to discuss such scenario this article approaches gender inequalities during humanitarian crises around the world, followed by a brief analysis of women’s responses to disasters and finishes with a summary of good practices that have been taking place all over the world and which are on their way to become institutional.
