Translocal solidarity actions here and there: reformulating codevelopment based on the contributions of Senegalese migrants
Abstract
Codevelopment has been considered as a way of connecting migrations and development, where migrants occupy a relevant role as development agents. However, the institutional interests and discourses do not always correspond with the objectives and approaches of the migrants, who carry out solidarity practices aimed at both the home communities and the host societies themselves. Based on an investigation carried out in the context of Senegalese migration in Granada, in this article we will reflect on the contributions of migrants in codevelopment and the adequacy (or not) of the terms that emerge in this field.
