Analysis of the Union for the Mediterranean within the current framework of the European Union development cooperation policy
Abstract
Geopolitics plays a fundamental role in the objectives of the European Union's ambitious development cooperation policy. Hence, its principles and areas of action are incorporated into all external action of the organisation. This paper examines the regional dimension of the European Neighbourhood Policy, in particular, the Union for the Mediterranean in order to identify the correlation between its activity and the elements of the New European Consensus.
