The experience of a decade: Border Bilingual Schools Program in terms of the geographical imaginary
Abstract
South-South Development Cooperation in its cross-border modality is implemented in places characterized by the contact between local actors of different nationalities where social interactions, typical of cross-border regions are built. Within the framework of Border Studies and applying a qualitative methodological strategy, this article analyzes how and why the existence of a certain geographical imaginary influences the implementation of a program of this type of cooperation. For this purpose, the case study of the Bilingual Border Schools Program between 2004-2015 and its implementation in three Argentine-Brazilian cross-border regions is taken.
