The international cooperation of cities and local governments in light of the International Cooperation for Development Law: ten years of dynamism
Abstract
This article analyzes the antecedents and perspectives of international cooperation between cities and local governments in light of the International Development Cooperation Law enacted in 2011. It explores examples of decentralized cooperation and twinning between cities, highlighting the contribution of the Law, through the institutional, legal and financial scaffolding, to the dynamism of territories and cities for the construction of solidary, inclusive and peaceful societies.
