Abstract

Plantar pododermatitis is great important pathology in avian medicine. Its early diagnosis allows a good prognosis. Therefore, the application of thermography to detect bumblefoot has been studied. This technique requires no contact with the patient, reducing the stress, very important in wildlife. Results show thermography is a useful tool for detecting plantar pododermatitis, even before the appearance of lesions, for the major difference between the maximum and minimum temperature of the plant and its thermal pattern.
