Effectiveness of shockwave therapy in patients with calcaneal spur
Abstract
This study seeks the answer of the Shockwave therapy (ESWT) of a group of 50 patients diagnosed with heel spur of more than 6 months evolving, with the intention to corroborate the effectiveness of the treatment and check if age is an indifferent factor or one for improvement. After analyzing the data, the therapy turns out to be favorable for 90% of patients, with 52% who get the full benefit. If analyzed by age group, the percentages in the earliest ages improve reaching 60% of overall success compared with 44% in advanced ages. The ESWT is effective in patients with chronic calcaneal spur and early age is a positive factor in the success of it.Downloads
