Occupation therapist intervention in the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain damage

Abstract

The Acquired Brain Damage (ABD) has a great impact on the population nowadays, as it causes dependency in most of the cases. The intervention of the occupational therapist search for reach a higher autonomy in their daily life activities, because that the occupational therapist should have an important role in their recuperation.

This investigation want to determinate the occupational therapy profession and their efficacy in the rehabilitation with ABD patients. The research has focused on different articles, books and the comparison of its results. To sum up, we have found general information, but without detailing precisely activities and/or techniques employed.

As future occupational therapist we see the need to keep on researching and carrying on specific researches on patients suffering from this pathology and the implication of our job.
