Perception of biosecutiry within partnership students of the Complutense Veterinay Clinical Hospital. Are veterinary students aware of profession's risks?
Abstract
Veterinary professionals are exposed inherently to zoonotic diseases. That is why it is very important to know them, as far as adopting the necessary biosecurity measures to avoid their spread. The aim of this study was to test how HCVC’s Small Animal Medicine and Surgery partnership students perceive the risks of the profession, how they prevent them and how are they taught about zoonotic diseases. To that end, 11 questions were asked in a written questionnaire, which was answered by 51 of these students during the present year (2015-16).
