Abstract

This article explores the debates related to the decolonialization of Memory Studies, through the ethnographic window of a collaborative project between Las Rastreadores de El Fuerte, a collective of families of missing persons in the Mexican state of Sinaloa and the Collective Sisters in the Shadows, an editorial and feminist writing project formed by current and former inmates. Through the analysis of a process of Memory Workshops and a collective book published by both organizations, the article reflects on the counter-hegemonic use of memory and testimony to destabilizes the discourses of power in relation to the extreme violence and the current human rights crisis in Mexico.
