The utilization and reutilization of the culture and the construction of the cultural patrimony in the processes of social intervention
Abstract
In agreement with the consideration of culture as set of available resources, the cultural intervention is regarded as a process of change placed between the utilization and the reutilization of these resources. This article discusses two different intervention processes in the same mining settlement: the one planned and executed by the mining company that built it, at the end of last century, during the implantation of the mining industries in the asturian central basins, and the other one carried out nowadays by the political authorities, with the intention of making of the settlement a patrimonial and tourist good, in the context of the industrial archaeology. They are two totally different interventions, as consequence of the form as, in each of them, are articulated the discourses and the institutional practices that accompany them.
