Abstract

In this introduction and presentation of this monography, a review is done on the evolution of Social Anthropology in Spain, as well as the evolution of the topics that have prevailed under the discipline. Insofar as there is an analysis of the groups represented or not in this volume, there is an overview on the current status of Anthropological research Spain. In the second part of the text, the reader will find a brief comment on the theoretical and methodological characteristics collected in the texts. In light of the texts there is a reflection on the relevant changes and developments that have taken place in the discipline. It also highlights the central role of ethnography as the main hallmark of Anthropology in the new context of globalization analysis.

Jesús Sanz Abad, Universidad Complutense de Madrid
Jesús Sanz Abad, licenciado y doctor en Antropología Social por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, es profesor de su Departamento de Antropología Social. En 2009 fue Premio Nacional de Investigación Cultural Marqués de Lozoya. También es licenciado en Historia por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y en Sociología por la UNED, y diplomado en Trabajo Social por esta última entidad. Realizó estancias de investigación en la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales en Quito. Participa en proyectos sobre migraciones transnacionales latinoamericanas y envíos de remesas. Estudia sobre metodología antropológica, remesas, estrategias económicas de la migración, migraciones transnacionales, vínculos entre migración y desarrollo, y antropología urbana y económica. Ha publicado: “Una propuesta de utilización del concepto de red social en el estudio de las estrategias económicas en el uso de las remesas de la migración ecuatoriana en España” (2008); “La lógica del retorno frente a la lógica de la permanencia de la migración ecuatoriana en España. Reproducción social y estrategias económicas para la movilidad social en el contexto migratorio” (2009); y “El migragrama: una propuesta metodológica para el estudio de las remesas económicas” (2010).
