Public legal aid lawyers in the debate of the migration industry
Abstract
The objective of this text is to place the role of the Public legal aid on immigration in the debate of the migration control industry, as well as the migration rescue industry. While this service is framed within the structure of a private corporate body but of public interest, such as the Bar Associations, they are the result of a guarantee regulation of the recognition of the right to a due defense, particularly in sanction procedures for expulsion. Therefore, the main argument is that the Lawyers in this service are located in an intermediate space between the Control Industry and the Industry of rescue: although there is a certain remuneration and a profit in the assistance, these lawyers arise, to a large extent, from personal impulses and social values such as commitment to the rights of foreigners.
