The impact of new media and its effect on consumers of cultural goods. A look at the publishing industry
Abstract
In the past ten years, media transformation enabled new forms of marketing and distribution infrastructures on cultural field. Regarding to this paper, we focus on the challenge of digitization has brought to content production, management and dissemination of cultural goods with a focus on the publishing industry. Where the digitization has made significant changes in a short time, from the presence of the e-book format or ebook, where is the technology that enables which devices are the valid ones. This trend in the digital realm has generated that business models must be adapted to market needs and an artist at the level of the circumstances. This paper aims at providing an overview on the relationship between the publishing market, copyright and new ecosystem of producing culture for this emerging digital medium; in addition to discuss, access to cultural content and circumscribed place for the reader /consumer.Downloads
