Aportaciones del concepto de mediación social a la investigación de la comunicación en Venezuela: la vigencia del pensamiento de Martín Serrano 30 años después
Abstract
This work gathers a look from Latin America, and more specifically Venezuela, where the contributions made by Manuel Martín Serrano through his theory of the social mediation and its impact on Ibero-American communication research. From a theoretical view, the concept of mediation that this author proposes as a central element of a Social Theory of Communication (something confirmed by other Latin-American authors (Martín-Barbero and Sodre) is analyzed. Likewise, the contributions of Martín Serrano's theory to the communication studies in the University of the Zulia are outlined. Finally, the need for an extension of the concept of mediation to adapt it to the new realities of technological development and cultural and social changes is considered.Downloads
