Communication and penitentiary training: case study of Ponent Prison, Lleida.
Abstract
Prison treatment is an ally for the social and labour reintegration of inmates. The training offered by prisons and the communication tools available to them can make the difference between re-educating and reintegrating the prison population or returning prisoners to their crimes and, consequently, being unable to return to society. Through qualitative interviews with 8 professionals from the Ponent Penitentiary Center, the aim of this paper is to show the perceptions that the selected sample has about education and communication within the center. In addition, their contributions will help to understand the functioning of this case study and will show the reader the work being done at the prison.
