What do Brazilians like? A study of Brazilian’s interactions with posts of big news portals on Facebook.
Abstract
The consumption of news published by big portals through social networks has been gaining space in Brazil recently. The big news portals make constant use of social networks to convey the news of their platforms. This article presents an investigation about the interest of Brazilians in news posted and shared by big portals on Facebook. In order to achieve this objective, we used content analysis, systematizing the likes and sharings of content most Brazilians are interested on. It has been found that there is a much greater interaction of people with banal news in relation to political news (even considering there will be a presidential election in the country this year), and incipient interaction with scientific news. The research concludes that Brazilian people are mainly attracted to meaningless entertainment.Downloads
