Abstract

The numerical models results of the marine atmospheric boundary layer obtained during the last decade are described and a transport numerical model that can be applied either to the convective or stable boundary layer is presented. In the last few years there has been an intensive work improving the results of numerical models of the marine atmospheric boundary Iayer. Thus new parametrizations has been introduced which are able to quantify Fí~-ic-o de/u TieTa. núm.3. 139-158. Ed. Univ. Compí. Madrid, 1991. Al. C. Pirco/o 140 variables still difficultto measure. However, the numerical and heat flux techniques have not changed significantly. A very simple numerical transport model is presented for the stable and convective atmospheric boundary layer. To apply the model in the different stability conditions, the major differenees to take into consideration are the numerical grid and the boundary conditions at the surface and at the base of the inversion layer. The model has a potential for application to marine weather forecast. 1.
