Abstract

This paper shows the relationship between ionospheric scintillation and spatial communications detected after a study carried out during years 2003 and 2004 in subtropical regions. This study was made after realizing that there were some lost packages in communications between satellites and ground segments located in these regions at the same time. The Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial decided to carry out a campaign in order to study this phenomenon.
