Abstract

In this article it is tried to emphasise the echo of the first public manifestations that the Spanish women teachers made, from the end of the century XIX, in which the taking of conscience of its discrimination in the professional and social area is appraised. We have considered of interest to make hear their voices through the figure of Concepción Sáiz Otero woman teacher and professor of teachers school who, in diverse writings, gathered the positions of the Spanish women teachers on the crucial subject of the education, as fundamental instrument in the achievement of the main social conquests of the women.
