La recuperación de vestigios arqueológicos de la Guerra Civil Española. Experiencia y método: el caso de Guadalajara
Abstract
After a surprising gap in the research of over half a century, we began a work of documentation of the military remains from the Spanish Civil War in the province of Madrid in the mid-1990s. We combined the search for original documents from the Civil War period with the use of computers to assemble the military cartography of the war and modern topographic maps. The final phase of the work involved the identification of the remains in the field —over 500 sites. As a result of this work, two books were published and an association was created, Colectivo Guadarrama, which, applying the same methodology, has already conducted several projects for public administrations in different places. The distance and neutrality with which this research is carried out has allowed us to collaborate with administrations of different political orientation. In this article, the works conducted by the Colectivo in the province of Guadalajara are presented.Downloads
