Production activities in domestic contexts from the Second Iron Age in Menorca: the macrolithic industry of Cercle 7 at Torre d’en Galmés (Alaior)
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to publicize part of the macrolithic assemblage (quern-stones, mortars and stone basins) recovered from a Second Iron Age dwelling at Torre d’en Galmés (Alaior, Menorca). The areas within the house where certain artisanal activities took place are identified through its spatial distribution. Moreover, inferences about the production organization of the Late Talayotic Menorcan society are made, as well as the possible ideological implications of some types of utensils.
