Museums and heritage in the 21st century. Theories and methodologies of action
Abstract
The theme that I present in tribute to Professor Martín Almagro analyses the changes that museums and heritage sites have undergone from the 1980’s to the present time. These changes include social, political, economic, and cultural transformations of society. This leads museologists to reflect, and in many cases redefine what museums and heritages truly represent. This also allows for a reflection upon the mission they are called to carry out. All this has contributed to using a new methodology and museological discourse that also takes into account the importance of nature as heritage.
