La huelga escamoteada: Arnao, 1912-1913. Un accidente en el desarrollo del sindicalismo minero moderno en Asturias
Abstract
The “Sindicato de los Obreros Mineros de Asturias” (SOMA), the first industry trade union in Spain, was founded in 1910. Its new organization ways led it to defeat the most powerful companies of the region, increasing its membership in a very short period of time. But in the expansion stage, the SOMA failed during Arnao’s strike (1912-1913). This fact, almost unknown nowadays, was missed out on the official accounts because it could have brought the effectiveness of the new union model into question. But finally this never happened and the SOMA became a countrywide reference.Downloads
