An analysis of the four most important newspapers of the Francoist period can clarify whether the Spanish press had more freedom when dealing with a topic concerning foreign politics, such as the Algerian War of Independence under De Gaulle (1958-1962). Press, when discussing an international theme, had quite space for manoeuvring, as the appreciations of the French policy in Algeria were diverse and even opposed.Downloads
