El Comité Hispano-Inglés y la Sociedad de Cursos y Conferencias de la Residencia de Estudiantes (1923-1936)
Abstract
The most important cultural activities of the “Residencia de Estudiantes” counted on the support of the “Comité Hispano-Inglés” and the “Sociedad de Cursos y Conferencias” since the middle Twenties. The “Comité” was presided by the Duke of Alba and promoted, together with the British embassy, several activities to spread British culture in Spain. The “Sociedad de Cursos y Conferencias” was directed by some aristocratic women, and it was the main organizer of the most important international conferences in Madrid. This article is the result of a research about the organization, the funding and the sociological profile of both of them.Downloads
