Abstract

In recent years, the original Marxist concepts, like working class and labour movement, have been discussed, challenged or reviewed both by the international and the Spanish historiography. Labour history, as part of social history, was about to be sacrificed during the last crisis of the traditional social paradigm. But the theoretical issues of labour history weren’t left out by the Spanish historiography that, finally, set up its debate in scientific terms, even though methodological dispersion, hesitations and philosophical doubts persisted.
